Answers for your wellness journey

Explore our most common questions about services, booking, and how we support you through menopause and beyond. We’re here to make your path to wellness clear and welcoming.

What makes your approach different from traditional medicine?

Traditional medicine is excellent at diagnosing and treating disease. However, many people experience symptoms long before a disease is diagnosed.

At Just Lavender Functional Medicine, we focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms, rather than simply managing them. By looking at the body as an interconnected system, we create personalized plans designed to restore balance and help you feel your best.

Why do I feel unwell even though my labs are “normal”?

Standard lab testing is designed to detect disease, not early dysfunction. This means many people can experience symptoms for years while still falling within the “normal” range.

A functional medicine approach looks deeper at patterns, physiology, lifestyle factors, and advanced testing when appropriate to uncover why symptoms may be happening in the first place.

What symptoms do you commonly help with?

Many people come to us when they feel something is off but haven’t found clear answers.

Common concerns include: fatigue or low energy, hormone imbalance, difficulty losing weight, brain fog or poor focus, sleep problems, digestive issues, mood changes, and more.

These symptoms often indicate that underlying systems in the body may be out of balance.

Do you only work with women?

No. While many of our patients are women seeking support for hormone-related concerns, we work with both women and men who want to better understand what may be driving their symptoms and are looking for a more personalized, root-cause approach to health. In fact, working with couples is one of our favorite things to do, as partners who pursue better health together often experience greater support, motivation, and long-term success.

What if I’ve already tried many different doctors or treatments?

Many of our patients come to us after seeing multiple providers without finding answers.

Often the issue isn’t a lack of effort — it’s that the underlying drivers of symptoms were never fully investigated. Our goal is to connect the dots and look deeper.

What is the first step to working with you?

The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute Discovery Call or attend one of our live educational seminars.
During this time you’ll learn:

Why many people struggle to get clear answers about their health?
What may be driving persistent symptoms?
How a root-cause approach works?
Whether this approach may be a good fit for you?

What happens after the discovery call?

The next step is a Complete Wellness Evaluation.

During this visit we review your health history, identify patterns that may explain your symptoms, and outline possible next steps. We also discuss personalized recommendations and what working together may look like.

What if I’m not sure this approach is right for me?

That’s exactly why the Complete Wellness Evaluation exists.

This visit helps you understand how this approach may apply to your specific concerns so you can decide whether moving forward feels right for you.

Do you accept insurance?

Do you offer Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?

Yes. When appropriate, we offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) as part of a personalized care plan.

Hormones play a major role in energy, metabolism, sleep, mood, brain function, and overall well-being. As hormone levels change with age or other health factors, many people experience symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, brain fog, poor sleep, or low libido.

Bioidentical hormones are designed to be structurally identical to the hormones your body naturally produces, and therapy is tailored based on your symptoms, health history, and lab results.

Our goal is to restore balance and optimal function, not simply mask symptoms.

Who might benefit from hormone replacement therapy?

Hormone therapy may be helpful for individuals experiencing symptoms related to hormonal changes, including: fatigue or low energy, brain fog or poor focus, sleep disturbances, mood changes, weight gain or difficulty losing weight, low libido, menopause or perimenopause symptoms, symptoms related to low testosterone in me.

Every treatment plan is individualized and based on a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether hormone therapy is appropriate.

What are peptides and how are they used in your practice?

Peptides are small chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. They help regulate many biological processes including metabolism, tissue repair, immune function, and hormone signaling.

In functional and integrative medicine, certain peptides may be used to help support foundational health and optimize how the body functions.

When appropriate, peptides can be used alongside lifestyle changes, nutrition, and other therapies as part of a comprehensive health plan.

What conditions or goals can peptide therapy support?

Depending on the individual, peptide therapies may be used to support areas such as: metabolic health and body composition, tissue repair and recovery, immune support, cognitive function, healthy aging, hormonal balance

Peptides are not a replacement for foundational health practices, but can be helpful tools when used as part of a well-designed care plan.

How do you decide whether hormones or peptides are right for someone?

Every person’s situation is different.

During your Complete Wellness Evaluation, we review your health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and laboratory testing when appropriate. From there, we develop a personalized plan that may include lifestyle changes, nutrition, supplements, hormone therapy, peptides, or other therapies depending on your needs and goals.

Our focus is always on supporting the body’s natural function and optimizing overall health.

Do you offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

Yes. We offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men who have symptoms of low testosterone and are appropriate candidates based on their health history and laboratory evaluation.

Testosterone plays an important role in energy, metabolism, muscle mass, mood, cognitive function, and sexual health. As levels decline with age or other health factors, some men may experience symptoms such as fatigue, decreased strength, weight gain, brain fog, low motivation, or reduced libido.

At Just Lavender Functional Medicine, testosterone therapy is approached thoughtfully and as part of a comprehensive health plan. We evaluate symptoms, lifestyle factors, and lab results to determine whether TRT is appropriate and to ensure treatment is safe, monitored, and personalized.

When indicated, TRT may be combined with other strategies such as nutrition, lifestyle optimization, peptide therapy, and metabolic support to help improve overall health and well-being.
